TNL Radio Network -02
Starting off in 1993 as Sri Lanka’s first private radio broadcaster, TNL Radio Network has taken pioneering steps in the island nation and Asia at large. After launching the first-ever digital radio stream online, TNL RN has gone on to launch three stations, each with its accompanying websites and social media platforms. If that wasn’t enough, the company has improved the accessibility of its stations through mobile apps on Apple and Android devices, embracing the tech revolution that is transforming the media landscape across the spectrum.

Continually pushing the envelope has garnered TNL RN numerous accolades, being the first private radio station in Sri Lanka to win the UNDA Awards in 1996 and the first in Asia to secure the NAB Broadcast Excellence Award in 1997. When the company isn’t pushing radio’s boundaries across traditional and digital routes, it has captivated the public’s conscience with a whole host of events: TNL Onstage, TNL Spinoff Live, The Flashback Show, and Rhythm Night. The first in the list, TNL Onstage, has become one of the largest talent contests available to local musicians, and was hailed as the “Most Fashionable Event” at the Fashion Asia Awards held in Chengdu, China, in 2013.

In more ways than one, TNL Radio Network has redefined what it means to be a radio station in Sri Lanka, going on to embed itself in the cultural fabric of the nation.

Broadcasting on 99.2 and 101.8, the revamped TNL NOW provides a bolder, younger, and more dynamic aesthetic for the airwaves. Catering to a younger demographic of Millennials and Generation Z, the station features the latest chart-topping hits across music genres. This new evolution of TNL embraces all that is fresh, energetic, upbeat, and current, harnessing the power of charismatic radio personalities to make the station fun and inclusive. Sri Lanka’s very first private radio station, TNL NOW, was launched in April 1993. The station went on to be the first recipient of the NAB International Award for Broadcast Excellence in Asia in 1997, earned several UNDA Awards in 1996 and brought home the award for Top Fashionable Contest of Fashion Asia 2013 for its flagship event, TNL Onstage.

Sri Lanka’s first Adult Contemporary radio station was launched on the 28th of February 1999. Broadcasting on 87.6 and 87.8, the station’s playlists include singalong-style favourites from the 80’s, 90’s and today, and fresh versions of classic tunes. Lite87’s brand is simple, classy and timeless.
